Wilkes-Barre PA WIC Nutrition Program Expands Income Guidelines

In Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania the Maternal and Family Health Services have announced that the WIC program has expanded the WIC income guidelines. This will allow more families to participate in the free nutrition education program. The new guidelines went into affect on July 1st, 2016. The new guideline shows that a family of four could earn $44,955 annually and still qualify. For a family of three, the income limit is $37,296. With a family of two, you can earn up to $29,637 and qualify for nutrition assistance. To view the current guidelines, Pennsylvania WIC Income Guidelines.

The WIC program provides participants with supplemental healthy foods that has important nutrients needed for healthy development of both mom, infants and children. In Luzerne County, Maternal and Family Health Services offers the WIC Nutrition Program in Kingston and Wilkes-Barre at the following locations: Nesbitt Medical Arts Building, 534 Wyoming Avenue, Suite 100, Kingston, 570-283-3523; or 222 Carey Ave., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702, 570-823-1516.
